Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Preetam Singh (“we”) collects when you use AksharKosh, and why.

What we collect

  • Account: your email address and name, if you sign up.
  • Usage: how many words you convert each day, to apply the limits. Without an account this uses a cookie and your IP address.
  • Payments: order and subscription records. Card and UPI details go to Razorpay, not to us.
  • Your dictionary and API keys: the words you save in My dictionary, and your API keys. Of each key we keep only a fingerprint, so it can’t be shown again.

Your text

Text you convert is sent to our converter, converted and sent back. We don’t keep a copy of your text or use it for anything else, except the word counts described below.

Files you upload stay on our converter only until they are deleted: 1 hour after upload if you don’t start the conversion, otherwise 1 hour after your first download or 24 hours after upload, whichever comes first. We keep the file’s name and word count for 7 days.

If you use AksharKosh free or without signing up, we count two things to improve conversions: words our table doesn’t know, and the spellings you pick (with the word before it). We keep only those words and on how many days they were seen, never your text, account or browser. Your IP address is kept only as a scrambled code until the next day, so each word counts once a day. Untick “Help improve AksharKosh” to stop. Paid plans, word packs and API calls are never counted.

Who else sees data

Razorpay processes payments. Our hosting provider stores the site. We don’t sell personal data.
